Creative Biolabs has been long-term committed to developing virus-like particle (VLP) technology in yeast cell systems. We are honored to use our advanced platforms and extensive experience to serve our valued customers with the best service and the most qualified products.
As a eukaryotic organism, yeast has become an extremely appealing expression system for the production of VLPs and heterologous proteins. As yeast strains employed in the laboratory are nonpathogenic and harmless organisms, they are safe and can be manipulated without any extra care. Compared to mammalian-based systems, they have a number of benefits, such as well-established fermentative growth, cheap and readily available medium requirements, quick growth rates, and ease of genetic manipulation. Yeast-based systems are appropriate for large-scale production because of these qualities. In addition, yeast expression systems facilitate the synthesis of recombinant glycoproteins and one or more viral capsid proteins that form and show a wide range of antigenic sites, including discontinuous epitopes.

The majority of the time, VLPs made in various yeast species can contain both distinct and identical viral proteins. The purification procedure for HEV VLPs, for example, was simpler than that of other systems since the identical viral protein was generated in all three yeast species except for P. pastoris, where the VLPs were secreted. Furthermore, S. cerevisiae and P. pastoris have been effectively used to create VLPs made of various viral proteins. Creative Biolabs has already proven that several VLPs can be successfully obtained using yeast cells. We now provide multiple yeast strains as powerful expression machinery for VLP production, including Pichia pastoris, Hansenula polymorpha, saccharomyces cerevisiae, etc.
