Background
The Alpha-1B adrenergic receptor (α1B-AR) is one of the three subtypes of alpha-1 adrenergic receptors, which also include α1A and α1D. These receptors belong to the G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) family and respond to the catecholamines norepinephrine and epinephrine. The α1B-AR subtype is involved in regulating vascular tone, cardiac function, and various cellular processes.
