Targeting Ferroptosis Solutions in Oncology

Ferroptosis, a form of controlled cell death, has received enormous media attention for its causal influence on the development and progression of chronic illnesses such as cancer. In contrast to apoptosis, ferroptosis causes iron-dependent peroxidation of lipids and death. More recently, ferroptosis has been shown to inhibit tumor growth and make many cancers more susceptible to chemotherapy and immunotherapy. That makes ferroptosis a promising candidate for novel cancer treatments.
