Short Decsription
Creative Biolabs offers CHO-K1-Tg(Human Gα16//Human sst2 Receptor) Stable Cell Line which sst2 receptor stably expressed in CHO-K1 cells which overexpress Gα16.
Description
CHO-K1-Tg(Human Gα16//Human sst2 Receptor) Stable Cell Line was engineered to express the receptor human sst2 (AY236542) and Gα16 gene. sst2 receptor plays a crucial role in mediating the effects of somatostatin signaling, including the inhibition of hormone secretion, modulation of neurotransmission, and regulation of cell growth. This cell line can be used to study sst2 receptor function, signaling pathways, and potential therapeutic interventions.
Features
Minimally modified GPCRs directly selected in functional assays;

Background
The sst2 receptor is a G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) that belongs to the somatostatin receptor family, which includes five subtypes (sst1-5). It is widely distributed throughout the body, including the central nervous system (CNS), peripheral nervous system, and various peripheral tissues. In the CNS, sst2 receptors are found in regions such as the cortex, hypothalamus, and hippocampus.
