Short Decsription
Creative Biolabs offers CHO-K1-Tg(Human sst4 Receptor) Stable Cell Line which sst4 receptor stably expressed in CHO-K1 cells.
Description
CHO-K1-Tg(Human sst4 Receptor) Stable Cell Line was engineered to express the receptor human sst4 (NM_001052). sst4 receptor is a somatostatin receptor subtype predominantly found in the CNS, where it plays critical roles in regulating neurotransmission and neuronal function. This cell line can be used to study sst4 receptor function, signaling pathways, and potential therapeutic interventions.

Background
The sst4 receptor is primarily expressed in the central nervous system (CNS), particularly in regions such as the cortex, hippocampus, and striatum. It is also found in peripheral tissues, including the gastrointestinal tract, pancreas, and immune cells. Somatostatin receptors, including sst4, are activated by somatostatin, a peptide hormone involved in the regulation of hormone secretion, neurotransmission, and various physiological processes. The sst4 receptor specifically mediates the effects of somatostatin on modulating neurotransmitter release, neuronal excitability, and synaptic plasticity in the brain. It is involved in the regulation of mood, cognition, and motor function.
