Background
ZnT3 belongs to the SLC30 family of zinc transporters, which are responsible for transporting zinc ions (Zn²⁺) across cellular membranes. ZnT3 is a transmembrane protein with six transmembrane domains and cytoplasmic N- and C-termini. It contains a zinc-binding domain that facilitates the transport of zinc ions.
