Short Decsription
Gel clot LAL assay is a qualitative LAL test for gram-negative bacterial endotoxin.
Description
Gel clot LAL assay is a qualitative LAL test for gram-negative bacterial endotoxin.
Features
Sensitivity of 0.03 EU/mL; Easy-to-read qualitative results; No need to purchase CSE separately.
Applications
Endotoxin detection
Molecular Mechanism of Action
LAL test relys on factor C coagulation cascade found in horseshoe crabs' blood. The combination of endotoxin and zymogen factor C initiate the protease cascade. Next, the activated factor C goes onto activate factor B, which converts the proclotting enzyme to the clotting enzyme. Lastly, two peptide bonds in coagulogen are catalytically cleaved to form coagulin gel.
Method Type
Lyophilized amebocyte lysate (LAL)
