Hanks' Balanced Salt Solution (HBSS) is a saline solution used to keep the osmotic pressure and pH in cells. It is used in a variety of cell culture applications, such as preparation of cells or maintenance of physiological pH. I-O™ HBSS contains sodium bicarbonate and phenol red, does not contain calcium, magnesium.
