Short Decsription
Creative Biolabs offers CHO-Tg(Woodchuck PD-L1//TCR activator) stable cell line which the PD-L1 and TCR activator gene stably expressed in CHO cells.
Description
CHO-Tg(Woodchuck PD-L1/TCR activator) stable cell line is a cell line derived from Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO) cells that have been genetically modified to express both Woodchuck PD-L1 (programmed death ligand 1) and a TCR (T cell receptor) activator. Woodchuck PD-L1 is a molecule that plays a key role in regulating immune responses by binding to T cells and inhibiting their activation. By expressing Woodchuck PD-L1, the stable cell line can be used to study the interactions between PD-L1 and T cells in the context of cancer, autoimmune diseases, and other conditions.

Background
The PD-1 gene, also known as programmed cell death protein 1, is a gene that encodes a protein found on the surface of T cells and other immune cells. PD-1 plays a crucial role in regulating the immune response by inhibiting T cell activity and preventing autoimmunity. However, overexpression of PD-1 can also suppress the immune response against cancer cells, allowing tumors to evade detection and destruction by the immune system. Therapies targeting PD-1, such as checkpoint inhibitors, have been developed to block the interaction between PD-1 and its ligands, releasing the brakes on the immune response and helping the body's immune system to attack and eliminate cancer cells. These treatments have shown significant success in treating various types of cancer, including melanoma, lung cancer, and lymphoma.
TCR (T cell receptor) activators are compounds or molecules that stimulate the activation of T cells in the immune system. T cells play a crucial role in the immune response by recognizing and attacking infected cells or foreign invaders. TCR activators can enhance the ability of T cells to detect and eliminate harmful pathogens or cancer cells.
