Short Decsription
Creative Biolabs offers Human Plasmacytoid Dendritic Cells for immunity reaserch.
Description
Human plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDCs) are a specialized subset of dendritic cells that play a critical role in the immune response to viral infections. They are characterized by their high expression of toll-like receptors (TLRs) and their ability to produce large amounts of type I interferons in response to viral nucleic acids.
Background
Dendritic cells (DCs) are antigen-presenting cells that play an important role in connecting the innate and adaptive immunity of the immune system. Plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDCs) also called natural interferon (IFN)-producing cells, secrete large quantities of type 1 interferon (IFNs) in response to a viral infection. They resemble antibody-secreting plasma cells and are believed to arise from a lymphoid progenitor.
