Short Decsription
Creative Biolabs offers Jurkat-TCR KO-NFAT Luc reporter cell line which the TCR gene was knocked out in NFAT Luc reporter Jurkat cells.
Description
Jurkat-TCR KO-NFAT Luc reporter cell line is a cell line derived from Jurkat cells that have been genetically modified to lack a functional T-cell receptor (TCR) pathway. These cells also contain a luciferase reporter gene driven by the NFAT (nuclear factor of activated T cells) transcription factor, allowing for easy monitoring of NFAT activity in response to stimuli. This cell line is commonly used in research to study TCR signaling and NFAT activation, as well as for screening potential drug candidates that target these pathways. The lack of functional TCR signaling in these cells allows for more specific and controlled studies of NFAT signaling without interference from other TCR-dependent pathways.

Background
The TCR gene, or T-cell receptor gene, is a gene responsible for encoding the protein receptors on the surface of T cells. T cells are a type of white blood cell that play a central role in the immune system, recognizing and responding to foreign antigens such as viruses, bacteria, and cancer cells. There are two main types of TCR genes, alpha and beta, which combine to form the T-cell receptor complex. These receptors are highly diverse and can recognize a wide variety of antigens, allowing T cells to mount specific immune responses to different threats. Mutations or dysregulation of the TCR gene can lead to immune system dysfunction, resulting in conditions such as autoimmune diseases, immunodeficiency disorders, and cancer. Studying the TCR gene and its role in immune function is important for understanding and developing treatments for these conditions.
