Short Decsription
Creative Biolabs offers Jurkat-Tg(Human PD-1)-NFAT reporter cell line which the PD-1 gene stably expressed in NFAT Luc reporter Jurkat cells.
Description
The Jurkat-Tg(Human PD-1)-NFAT reporter cell line is a cell line derived from Jurkat cells that has been engineered to express the human programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) gene and a nuclear factor of activated T cells (NFAT) reporter gene. PD-1 is a cell surface receptor that plays a role in regulating immune responses, and the NFAT reporter gene allows for the monitoring of NFAT activation, which is involved in T cell activation pathways. This cell line can be used in research to study the role of PD-1 signaling in T cell function and immune responses.

Background
The PD-1 gene, also known as programmed cell death protein 1, is a gene that encodes a protein found on the surface of T cells and other immune cells. PD-1 plays a crucial role in regulating the immune response by inhibiting T cell activity and preventing autoimmunity. However, overexpression of PD-1 can also suppress the immune response against cancer cells, allowing tumors to evade detection and destruction by the immune system. Therapies targeting PD-1, such as checkpoint inhibitors, have been developed to block the interaction between PD-1 and its ligands, releasing the brakes on the immune response and helping the body's immune system to attack and eliminate cancer cells. These treatments have shown significant success in treating various types of cancer, including melanoma, lung cancer, and lymphoma.
