Description
Glycophorin A (GYPA) is a transmembrane sialoglycoprotein that is abundant in erythrocytes, where it contributes to their structural integrity. GYPA is a type I transmembrane protein that carries multiple O-linked tetrasaccharides capped with sialic acid, playing an essential role in maintaining erythrocyte membrane function.
