Description
MYO18A is an unconventional myosin involved in stabilizing and organizing the actin cytoskeleton. MYO18A is the receptor for SP, responsible for clearing SP-A-opsonized bacteria in infections. Two isoforms (alpha and beta) have different localizations: alpha colocalizes with the ER-Golgi complex, beta localizes diffusely in the cytoplasm.
