Description
MYO6 is an actin-based motor protein that moves toward the minus end of actin filaments. It is expressed in hair cells, retina, and epithelial cells. MYO6 participates in clathrin-mediated endocytosis, vesicular trafficking, polarized secretion, and autophagy. It is upregulated in cancers like prostate, lung, colorectal, and gastric cancer, and contributes to tumor migration and metastasis.
