Six-reagent kit for the detection of glycogen and mucopolysaccharide structures primarily in the liver. The amylase digestion process, followed by P.A.S. staining, can be used to assess glycogen storage diseases.
Description
Creative Biolabs' P.A.S. Amylase Kit is most commonly used to identify glycogen in the liver. Periodic acid enables molecules containing ethylene glycol groups to produce aldehydes affected by Schiff's reagent, dyeing them purple (magenta).
