Introduction of CAMouse™ VHH Strain

Single domain antibodies (sdAbs) are a special antibody type with single monomeric heavy chains which were first found in camelids. Except for the common features of other mAbs, sdAbs provide many unique properties such as higher affinity, favorable biophysical stability, recognition of conformational epitopes, simplicity to manufacture, etc. However, immunogenicity risks are a general concern due to the camelid origin. To overcome these limitations, the CAMouse™ VHH strain has been successfully developed, which is capable of raising large repertoires of human heavy-chain-only antibodies, a mimic version of humanized sdAbs.

The unique and patented CAMouse™ VHH strain is based on the world-leading transgene technique with incomparable length and efficiency. Human immunoglobulin heavy chain locus (without CH1 domain) were selectively introduced into endogenous mouse Ig-inactivated mice. After challenged with immunogens, the mice can synthesize a diverse pool of antibodies consisting of only heavy chains.
