Short Decsription
Creative Biolabs offers HEK293T-Tg(Human ACE2 Receptor) Stable Cell Line which ACE2 receptor stably expressed in HEK293T cells.
Description
HEK293T-Tg(Human ACE2 Receptor) Stable Cell Line was engineered to express the receptor human ACE2 (NM_021804.1). ACE2 plays a critical role in both normal physiological functions and disease processes, making it a significant target for research and potential therapeutic interventions. This cell line can be used to study ACE2 receptor function, signaling pathways, and potential therapeutic interventions.

Background
ACE2 is found on the surface of cells in various organs and tissues throughout the body, including the lungs, heart, kidneys, intestines, and blood vessels. It is particularly abundant in the lungs and intestines. ACE2 acts as a counterbalance to the actions of ACE (Angiotensin Converting Enzyme) in the RAS. While ACE converts angiotensin I to angiotensin II (a peptide hormone that constricts blood vessels and raises blood pressure), ACE2 breaks down angiotensin II into smaller peptides, including angiotensin-(1-7). Angiotensin-(1-7) has vasodilatory effects, meaning it relaxes blood vessels and helps regulate blood pressure.
