Short Decsription
Creative Biolabs offers HEK293T-Tg(Human mGlu4 Receptor) Division-Arrested Cell which mGlu4 receptor stably expressed in HEK293T cells.
Description
HEK293T-Tg(Human mGlu4 Receptor) Division-Arrested Cell was engineered to express the receptor human mGlu4 (NM_000841.1). This cell line can be used to study mGlu4 receptor function, signaling pathways, and potential therapeutic interventions. Dividing-arrest cells are cells that are normally kept under specific culture conditions or treated with agents that prevent cell division from being held in a non-dividing state. This can be achieved through methods such as serum starvation, chemical inhibitors of cell cycle progression, or genetic modification.

Background
L-glutamate is the major excitatory neurotransmitter in the central nervous system and activates both ionotropic and metabotropic glutamate receptors. The metabotropic glutamate receptors, which are G protein-coupled receptors, have been divided into 3 groups on the basis of sequence homology, putative signal transduction mechanisms and pharmacologic properties. Group II and group III receptors are linked to the inhibition of the cyclic AMP cascade, but differ in their agonist selectivity. Group III agonists include L-2-amino-4-phosphonobutyrate (L-AP4) and L-serine-O-phosphate.
