What We Do

Our service is utilized for assessing the inhibition of the CYP2D6 enzyme using a combination of high-performance liquid chromatography and tandem mass spectrometry.

The test compound is dissolved in an appropriate solvent and prepared at different concentrations for analysis.

The prepared samples are injected into an HPLC system coupled with an MS/MS detector. The HPLC separates the compounds in the sample based on their chemical properties, and the MS/MS detector detects and quantifies the target compound.

The test compound is incubated with the CYP2D6 enzyme, which is a key enzyme responsible for drug metabolism in the liver. The enzyme metabolizes the compound, and its inhibitory effects on CYP2D6 activity are assessed.

The data obtained from the HPLC-MS/MS analysis is analyzed to determine the inhibitory effects of the test compound on CYP2D6 activity. The IC50 value, which represents the concentration of the compound required to inhibit half of the enzyme activity, is calculated.
