Background
TLR1 is a pattern recognition receptor that recognizes bacterial lipoproteins and is involved in activating immune responses. It heterodimerizes with TLR2 to form a receptor complex that activates signaling pathways leading to the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines, which are essential for innate immune defense against infections.
TLR2 is a key receptor in the immune system that recognizes a variety of microbial components, including peptidoglycan from Gram-positive bacteria. It forms heterodimers with TLR1 or TLR6 to mediate immune signaling. TLR2 activation triggers inflammatory responses, enhancing the body's ability to combat infections.
