Short Decsription
Creative Biolabs offers CD45.1 Splenocytes, C57BL/6 Mouse for using in transplant and adoptive transfer studies to track the donor and host cells through the different alleles.
Description
CD45.1 splenocytes refer to splenocytes isolated from C57BL/6 mice that express the CD45.1 isoform of the CD45 protein. CD45 is a common leukocyte antigen that is widely used as a marker for immune cell populations. The C57BL/6 mouse strain is a commonly used inbred mouse strain in biomedical research. The CD45.1 isoform is often used in adoptive transfer experiments to distinguish between donor and recipient immune cells.
Species character
The C57BL/6 mouse is the most commonly-used inbred mouse strain available and is employed in numerous research areas, including immunology, genetics, diabetes and obesity, neurobiology, cardiovascular biology, and developmental biology. They are routinely used as the background strain for generation of congenics carrying modified genes and/or transgenes. These mice carry the H-2b haplotype and their immune cells are commonly used in immune-based assays.
Background
A splenocyte can be any one of the different white blood cell types as long as it is situated in the spleen or purified from splenic tissue. Splenocytes consist of a variety of cell populations such as T and B lymphocytes, dendritic cells and macrophages, which have different immune functions.
