Short Decsription
Creative Biolabs offers Human CD14+ Monocytes for immunity reaserch.
Description
Human CD14+ monocytes are a type of white blood cell that plays a key role in the immune system. They express the cell surface marker CD14, which is a receptor for lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and other microbial molecules, allowing them to recognize and respond to pathogens. CD14+ monocytes circulate in the bloodstream and can differentiate into macrophages or dendritic cells upon activation. They play a crucial role in the innate immune response by phagocytosing pathogens, producing inflammatory cytokines, and activating other immune cells. Abnormalities in CD14+ monocytes have been associated with various diseases, including sepsis, autoimmune disorders, and cancer.
Background
Monocytes are a type of white blood cell (leukocytes) that reside in your blood and tissues to find and destroy germs (viruses, bacteria, fungi and protozoa) and eliminate infected cells. They are produced in the bone marrow and then enter the blood, where they account for about 1 to 10% of the circulating white blood cells. They are the largest type of leukocyte and can differentiate into macrophages and conventional dendritic cells.
