Short Decsription
Creative Biolabs offers CHO-K1-Tg(Human Gα16//Human sst1 Receptor) Stable Cell Line which sst1 receptor stably expressed in CHO-K1 cells which overexpress Gα16.
Description
CHO-K1-Tg(Human Gα16//Human sst1 Receptor) Stable Cell Line was engineered to express the receptor human sst1 (AY322536) and Gα16 gene. sst1 receptor is a somatostatin receptor subtype that plays important roles in regulating hormone secretion and neurotransmission. This cell line can be used to study sst1 receptor function, signaling pathways, and potential therapeutic interventions.

Background
The sst1 receptor is primarily found in various tissues throughout the body, including the central nervous system (CNS), gastrointestinal tract, pancreas, and immune cells. In the CNS, it is located in regions such as the cortex, hippocampus, and hypothalamus. Somatostatin receptors, including sst1, are activated by somatostatin, a peptide hormone that regulates the endocrine system and neurotransmission. The sst1 receptor specifically mediates the effects of somatostatin on inhibiting the release of hormones such as growth hormone, insulin, glucagon, and gastrointestinal peptides. In the brain, it modulates neurotransmitter release and neuronal excitability.
