Gastric Cancer Cell NCI-N87

The NCI-N87 cell line was established from human gastric carcinoma and forms a well-differentiated monolayer that expresses epithelial-type tight junctions (i.e., E- cadherin and ZO-1). It represents a physiologically relevant model of the gastric epithelium. The NCI-N87 cell line secretes gastric mucin-6 glycoprotein and becomes acid-resist- ant when incubated with solutions at pH 3 and higher, and has already been used to investigate gastric drug metabolism.

✔ Positively tested for myc and erb B2 oncogenes.

✔ Expresses carcinoembryonic antigen as well as TAG 72 surface glycoproteins.
