Short Decsription
Creative Biolabs offers Human Central Memory CD8+ T Cells for immunity reaserch.
Description
Central memory CD8+ T cells are a subset of memory T cells that are located in secondary lymphoid organs, such as lymph nodes and spleen. These cells are characterized by their longevity and ability to rapidly respond to re-infection with the same antigen. They express high levels of the lymph node homing receptor CD62L and the chemokine receptor CCR7, which allows them to home to lymphoid tissues where they can quickly mount an immune response.
Background
Memory CD8+ T cells were originally thought to exist as two populations (effector and central memory). Central memory CD8+ T cells, which express the secondary lymphoid organ-homing molecules CCR7 and CD62L, are mainly found within the spleen and lymph nodes, lack immediate effector function and have increased ability to generate secondary immune responses. It control systemic secondary infections and can protect from chronic infection and cancer as a result of their stem-cell-like capacity to expand, differentiate, and self-renew.
