Short Decsription
Creative Biolabs offers Jurkat-Tg(Human CTLA4)-IL-2 reporter cell line which the CTLA4 gene stably expressed in IL-2 reporter Jurkat cells.
Description
The Jurkat-Tg(Human CTLA4)-IL-2 reporter cell line is a genetically modified Jurkat cell line that expresses human CTLA4 and an IL-2 reporter gene. This cell line can be used to study the function of CTLA4 in T cell activation and immune regulation. The IL-2 reporter gene allows for the easy and rapid detection of T cell activation by measuring IL-2 production.

Background
The CTLA4 gene encodes a protein called cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated protein 4, which is a receptor found on the surface of T cells, a type of white blood cell that plays a key role in the immune response. CTLA4 acts as a negative regulator of T cell activation, helping to prevent excessive immune responses that could damage the body's own tissues. Mutations in the CTLA4 gene have been associated with autoimmune diseases, as well as an increased risk of certain types of cancer. Therapies targeting CTLA4, such as checkpoint inhibitors, have been developed to enhance the immune response against cancer cells.
