Single-cell Genome Sequencing for Gut Microbiota Genomics Analysis

In current genomic approaches, single-cell sequencing is unique in yielding access to the genomes of individual cells without the complications of culture or compositing data from multiple cells or strains. Creative Biolabs offers single-cell genome sequencing to help you increase the understanding of complex gut microbes by isolating the contributions of distinct cellular populations.

Single-cell DNA Genome Sequencing

Single-cell DNA genome sequencing involves isolating a single cell, amplifying the whole genome or region of interest, constructing sequencing libraries, and then applying next-generation DNA sequencing such as Illumina. Single-cell DNA sequencing has been widely applied to study normal physiology and disease in mammalian systems. Single-cell resolution can uncover the roles of genetic mosaicism or intra-tumor genetic heterogeneity in cancer development or treatment response. Advancements in single-cell DNA sequencing have enabled the collection of genomic data from uncultivated prokaryotic species present in complex microbiomes.

Our Service

Single-cell genome sequencing can be applied in different conditions, ranging from establishing linkage of key genes to de novo reconstruction of new genomes and then whole-genome population studies targeted at the ultimate biological resolution. It is a rapidly growing field with a significant role to play in both extending and pulling together the understanding of microbial communities in the environment. As no single method for cell isolation or processing is ideal for all the different organisms, Creative Biolabs is committed to developing a diversity of technological approaches for single-cell genomics. If you are interested in our single-cell genome sequencing service, please feel free to contact us.
