With abundant experience in in vitro diagnostic (IVD) antibody development, Creative Biolabs has become an unparalleled company to provide a great variety of IVD antibody development services for different disease biomarkers. Here, we introduce coronin-1A as a potential marker for bladder cancer diagnosis. Our professional scientists are confident in offering high-quality antibodies for our global clients to help improve the diagnosis of bladder cancer.

Introduction of Coronin-1A

Coronins are highly conserved actin-binding proteins that regulate various cellular processes, such as cell motility and phagosome formation. Human coronin-1A (CORO1A), a member of the coronin families, is a crucial component of the actin cytoskeleton and promotes cellular processes including endocytosis and cell motility. It comprises an aminoterminal tryptophan-aspartate (WD) repeat-containing region, a unique region (U) of variable length, and a carboxy-terminal coiled-coil domain (CC) required for oligomerization. In addition, coronin-1A is widely expressed in brain, thymus, spleen, bone marrow, and lymph nodes, and selective cytoplasmic expression has been reported in leukocytes and microglia.

Coronin-1A Marker of Bladder Cancer

Coronin-1A is highly expressed in the hematopoietic system and regulates F-actin content in thymocytes. It has been reported that coronin-1A is significantly correlated with the development and migration of breast cancer cells when compared with normal cell lines. Besides, coronin-1A has been identified as a novel antibody target for the clinically isolated syndrome and multiple sclerosis. Moreover, gene expression studies have shown that the expression of coronin-1A in lymphomas and other hematological malignancies is altered. Most importantly, studies have shown that the level of coronin-1A is significantly upregulated in Ta/T1 and T2/T3 urine samples relative to that in samples from healthy subjects, which makes it a potential biomarker for the diagnostics of bladder cancer.
