Control Cell Products

All products and services are For Research Use Only and CANNOT be used in the treatment or diagnosis of disease.

Excellent experiment data is enjoyed by everyone, but it is equally important to have the appropriate controls in order to explain and problem-solve your experiment effectively. Appropriate controls are essential for accurately gating populations and determining whether a result is unique or an artifact. They offer valuable context and enhance clarity in your research. Control cells are commonly used as standards in experiments where conclusions are not easy to draw directly. The application of control cells in multi-center and longitudinal studies can help achieve data quality monitoring and reproducibility support. To speed up customers' projects, Creative Biolabs provides a wide range of high-quality control cells, such as phospho PBMC and bovine corneal endothelial cells.

Features of Our Control Cells

  • Superior stability throughout the long term: Longitudinal studies can benefit greatly from the use of our control cell products on account of their exceptional stability both in their immediate and lyophilized forms (for up to a year).
  • The fresh-sample-like characteristics.
  • Strict quality assurance measures: Our control cell products are high-quality and reliable solutions. Standard operating protocols guide the isolation and storage of our control cells, guaranteeing consistent cell quality across batches. Growth media are certified based on U.S. Public Health standards as well. We perform all of our sterility testing in compliance with USP and EP regulations, using isolators or clean room environments.

Applications of Control Cells

Our control cells can be applied to multiple experiments, such as flow cytometry and MAT assays.

For longitudinal investigations, flow cytometry controls are especially crucial in reference labs, clinical research organizations, and multi-center clinical trials to track assay performance and variability. Multiple reagents, such as fluorescent antibodies and buffers, are required for flow cytometry tests. Some indicators may or may not be expressed by donors. Hence, it is essential for reference and clinical laboratories to ensure that the multi-color cocktails prepared daily are capable of detecting all desired markers. In order to achieve this, a control cell is included and run alongside the samples.

The monocyte activation test (MAT) is a human in vitro alternative to the rabbit pyrogen test (RPT). It is capable of detecting a wide range of pyrogens, including both endotoxins and non-endotoxin pyrogens (NEPs). When pyrogens exist, monocytes become activated and produce various types of cytokines, which are then detected by ELISA. In MAT assays, it is necessary to design controls with the goal of evaluating whether the production of cytokines is not influenced by external factors.
