C1s proenzyme is the native form of C1s as well as a subunit of the C1 complex. Human C1s proenzyme is a single chain protein with 86 kD. When the C1 complex binds to antibody-antigen complex, complement C1 is activated, and C1s proenzyme is activated producing C1s enzyme. |
