Introduction | C2a is a larger fragment of complement protein C2 that is produced by activation of both the classical and lectin pathways. C2a forms the proteolytic subunit of the C3 and C5 convertases of both pathways. Activation of each pathway generates a proteolytic enzyme complex that binds to the target surface. |
