Engineering Colorectal Cancer Cell COLO205 for Self-destruction

Genetic modification of whole tumor cells to secrete the immunostimulatory cytokine opens up new perspectives in the field of cancer immunotherapy and vaccine design. Scientists at Creative Biolabs have accumulated extensive expertise and experience in the discovery and development of anti-tumor immune therapy. Based on our platform, we provide services to engineer the COLO205 cells through several strategies, thus providing a promise for enhanced antitumor immune response.

Introduction of COLO205 Cell Line

The COLO205 cell line is a metastatic cell line isolated in 1975 from the ascitic fluid of a 70-year-old Caucasian male with carcinoma of the colon. These cells exhibit epithelial cell morphology and come from a Dukes' type D tumor. The COLO-205 cell line grows simultaneously in both adherent and suspended states in culture and can serve as a good model for studying tumor heterogeneity. This cell line is tumorigenic in mice and has been widely used in cancer research and drug development in vitro and in vivo.

Engineering COLO205 Cell Services

Genetically modified prostate cancer cells with cytokines overexpression have been studied as cellular vaccines in clinical trials and research. We have developed engineered COLO205 cells overexpressing cytokine for stronger T-cell activation. Engineered tumor cells with cytokines for self-destruction can enhance antitumor immunity since

Inserting a gene expression vector into cells overexpresses the gene, but it's usually uncontrolled. Synthetic gene circuits have been developed to tune gene expression and to perform logic based on RNA interference or microRNAs. Based on a platform for synthetic gene circuits for cancer immunotherapy, we offer a tailored service for engineering COLO205 cells. COLO205 cells can be designed to engineer with cytokines overexpression, as well as a target-specific aptamer, aptamer-siRNA, synthetic immunomodulatory gene circuits, etc.

The following are different cytokines you can choose to engineer.

VEGFC VEGF165 TNF-α IL-1 IL-2 IL-4 IL-6 IL-10 IL-12 IL-15 IFN-γ GM-CSF M-CSF TGF-β

Creative Biolabs provides a one-stop platform for the development of engineered cancer cells for self-destruction. Our capabilities include the design of gene circuits, cell engineering, a series of functional characterization involving self-destruction assays, immune reactivity assessment ex vivo, toxicity assessment, and circuit performance assessment.
