Engineering Colorectal Cancer Cell T84 for Self-destruction
Creative Biolabs provides a complete range of engineering T84 cell services to help our clients with the development of safer immunotherapy. Our well-established state-of-the-art molecular biology platform and cell biology platform render us the capability to perform a wide range of services from cell engineering to in vitro & in vivo assessment.
Introduction of T84 Cell Line
The T84 cell line is a colonic epithelial cell line derived from a lung metastasis of colonic carcinoma in a 72-year-old male patient. After 23 passages in BALB/c nude mice, the T84 cell line was established. The gene mutations of the T84 cell line include APC, KRAS, TP53, etc. The cells grow to confluence as a monolayer with the basolateral membrane attached to the surface of the culture dish and a microvillus-studded apical membrane facing the media. As a model to study tumor biology, research indicated that T84 cells showed gene expression patterns closest to tumor bulk-derived cells. Unlike HT-29 and Caco-2 cell lines, no clone or subpopulation has so far been established from the parental T84 cell line.
Creative Biolabs has established a platform to turn cancer cells against themselves. Based on this platform, we engineer T84 line via various strategies for self-destruction.

Strategies for Engineering T84 Cells
Creative Biolabs provides a synthetic gene circuit platform that enables the tumor-specific expression of immunostimulators. Using these strategies, engineered T84 cells provide both a large number and variety of tumor-specific antigens and immunomodulators that train immune cells and trigger the selective killing of cancer cells. We have dozens of proven strategies to accomplish your specific business goals, including:
-
Engineering T84 Cell with Cytokine Overexpression
Cytokine gene-modified tumor cell is a modality for cancer immunotherapy. We have developed engineered T84 cells overexpressing cytokine through several methods of gene delivery. Engineered tumor cells with cytokines can enhance antitumor immunity since
-
The whole tumor cell provides a polyvalent source of tumor-associated antigens;
-
The secretion of cytokine by the modified tumor cells can greatly enhance the immune response.
The following are different cytokines you can choose to engineer.
Creative Biolabs relies on world-class cell engineering technology expertise, we provide customers with the best quality one-stop cell engineering services, including the development of experimental programs according to different needs. If you are interested in our services, please feel free to contact us to discuss your project.
