Lassa Virus
Lassa virus (LASV) is the causative agent of viral hemorrhagic fever-Lassa hemorrhagic fever, belonging to Arenaviridae. The hosts of the virus are human and other primates, and the viruses are mainly prevalent in West African countries. The symptoms of LASV fever are similar to flu, including fever, sore throat, headache, weakness, cough, and gastrointestinal reactions. Effects on bleeding are changes in vascular permeability. The target cells infected with the virus are dendritic cells and epithelial cells, all of which belong to antigen presenting cells. LASV is a single-strand, double-segment RNA virus containing an envelope. The viral genome encodes four viral proteins, including zinc-binding proteins, RNA polymerases, nuclear proteins, and viral glycoproteins. The operation of the virus requires Biosafety Level 4-equivalent containment. LASV is a single-strand, double-segment RNA virus containing an envelope.CAT | Product Name | Source | Product Overview | Target | Type | Datasheet | Size | Price |
