Interleukin-13 receptor subunit alpha-2 (IL-13Rα2), also called CD213A2, CT19, IL-13R, IL13BP, is a membrane bound protein that in humans is encoded by the IL13RA2 gene. This protein is a component of the cell surface receptor. Compared to IL-13Rα1, IL-13Rα2 play an opposite role as a potent IL13 antagonist. IL-13Rα2 is infected in the disease of glioblastoma multiforme and malignant glioma though the pathway of immune system and Akt signaling.
