Apolipoprotein A1 (Apo-A1) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the APOA1 gene. The protein is the major component of HDL particles in plasma and is important in lipid metabolism. ApoA1 has been used as a biomarker of cardiovascular diseases. It is suggested that Apo-A1 is therapeutic against established tumors.
