Introduction
Plasmodium vivax is one of the five malaria parasites that cause human malaria, and most cases and areas of recurrent malaria are caused by infection with this pathogen. Although it is less virulent than Plasmodium falciparum, Plasmodium vivax can also cause serious illness and even death. Plasmodium vivax are mainly distributed in Latin America, Asia and some parts of Africa. It is worth noting that Plasmodium vivax differs from the most deadly Plasmodium falciparum in that it has the ability to undergo sporogonic development.
