Recombinant SP-D Production in E. Coli Protocol

Years of experience in biological research have rewarded Creative Biolabs with the ability to provide clients from all over the world with high stability, comprehensive and cutting-edge one-stop solutions for a broad range of complement-related research.

Surfactant protein SP-D is a multimeric collagen lectin known as collectin. SP-D plays an important role in the body's defense and innate immunity by binding neutrophil defensins and regulating antiviral defense. In the inflammatory pathway mediated by TLR2 and TLR4 activated by DAMP molecules, the CRD recognition domain of SP-D protein recognizes and binds to receptor molecules expressed on the surface of inflammatory cells to inhibit the activation of signaling pathways. The recombinant fragment of SP-D containing the trimer neck and carbohydrate recognition domain has been successfully produced by E. coli. Here, we briefly summarize the protocol of this experiment.
