West Nile Virus Envelope virus-like particles (WNV Envelope VLPs) (CAT#: S01YF-0922-KX1552)

Recombinant West Nile Virus Virus-like Particle (WNV VLPs) are produced in mammalian HEK293 cells, assembled with Envelope protein. VLP is mimicking the native 3D structure of viruses which can elicit strong immune responses. However, VLPs lack viral genomic material which makes them non-infectious, unable to replicate and enhance the safety during manufacture and administration. WNV VLPs can be used in the development of WNV diagnostics and in vaccine development and R&D (including use as an immunogen).

Virus Background

  • Virus Family
  • Flaviviridae
  • Virus Species
  • West Nile virus
  • Virus Overview
  • West Nile virus (WNV) is a single-stranded RNA virus that causes West Nile fever. The virus is primarily transmitted by mosquitoes, mostly species of Culex. The primary hosts of WNV are birds, so that the virus remains within a "bird-mosquito-bird" transmission cycle.
  • Virus Structure
  • Enveloped, positive-sense, single-stranded RNA virus
  • Related Disease
  • West Nile fever
