Lipids are a highly heterogenous class of biomolecules that are very soluble in non-polar organic solvents, omnipresent in cellular structures and as temporary energy storage and signalling, widely employed in the beauty and food sectors, and an indispensable component in nanotechnology-based therapeutics.
