Cell Penetrating Single Domain Antibody

Single domain antibody (sdAb), also known as VHH or VNAR, is the smallest naturally antigen-binding antibody fragments consisting of a single variable antibody domain. These sdAbs with a molecular weight of 12-15 kDa, are discovered in camelids (camels, llamas, and alpacas) and cartilaginous fishes (e.g. sharks), and exhibit specificities and affinities comparable to that of conventional antibodies.

Based on our Super™ transbody development platform and high-throughput screening methods, Creative Biolabs can discover novel sdAbs with high specificity and affinity against any target of interest, especially those that could penetrate the cell while also being capable of specifically binding to the intracellular target proteins for therapeutic discovery. Specifically, a target protein may be an intracellular receptor within a target cell (any mammalian cell, including but not limited to cancer cells, immune system cells, and any other mammalian cells of interest). This strategy widely extends the scope of protein therapeutics and basic research tools and does not dramatically alter the utility and function of sdAbs, such as specificity, high stability, and target affinity.
