Overview of Stem Cell Basic Research

Stem cell basic research explores the fundamental biology of stem cells and their potential applications. These studies focus on understanding how stem cells develop, function, and maintain their capacity for regeneration. Stem cell research is crucial for uncovering how tissues and organs form, maintain, and repair themselves, offering insights into normal human development and disease processes.

There are different types of stem cells, such as embryonic stem cells (ESCs), induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), and adult stem cells. Each type has distinct capabilities in terms of their differentiation potential and their roles in maintaining or repairing specific tissues. Basic research aims to explore these properties, including the molecular signals that govern stem cell behavior, the environment that supports stem cells, and the factors that influence their specialization into particular cell types.

Basic Research Services for Stem Cell

Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells (iPSC) Service

At Creative Biolabs, we enhance your research and data relevancy by acquiring and reprogramming induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) from a specific patient clinical profile. We have developed streamed-line protocols for efficient iPSC generation with viral vectors, DNA (plasmid), RNA and recombinant proteins. Creative Biolabs also provides IPSC maintainance services and large-scale pluripotent cell production in both 2D and 3D formats. In addition, pluripotent characterization assays and custom genome editing services in human cells, including cell lines and patient-derived cells are also available. Creative Biolabs has extensive expertise in iPSC differentiation and can provide the most flexible, adaptable, and customizable solutions for your project.

Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs) Service

Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are adult stem cells traditionally found in the bone marrow. However, mesenchymal stem cells can also be isolated from other tissues including cord blood, peripheral blood, fallopian tube, and fetal liver and lung. Just like other stem cell types, MSCs have a high capacity for self-renewal while maintaining multipotency. Thus, mesenchymal stem cells have an enormous therapeutic potential for tissue repair and have been shown to be capable of differentiating into multiple cell types including adipocytes, chondrocytes, osteocytes, and cardiomyocytes.

The ability of MSCs to differentiate into bone, fat, or cartilage has shown promise in the fields of bioengineering and tissue regeneration. Creative Biolabs offers products designed to identify the progression of MSCs into osteogenic, adipogenic, muscular, and chondrogenic lineages, which have many advantages over the traditional model. We provide MSC isolation and expansion, characterization and differentiation services to support your basic research and regenerative biology initiatives. Please contact Creative Biolabs' technical support to learn more about MSCs.

Genome Editing Services for Stem Cell

Human pluripotent stem cells provide a versatile platform for regenerative studies, drug testing, and disease modeling. Creative Biolabs offers genome-editing systems based on transcription activator-like effectors (TALEs) and an RNA-guided DNA-specific nuclease, Cas9, that utilizes clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR for stem cell). We also provide recombinant-based technology to support genome editing development for stem cells.
