| Introduction | C5b-9 terminal complement complex, also named as membrane attack complex (MAC), is a complex protein composed of the subunits C5b, C6, C7, C8 and several C9 molecules. The MAC is a structure typically formed on the surface of pathogen cell membranes as a result of the activation of the host's complement system, and as such is one of the effector proteins of the immune system. The MAC forms transmembrane channels, which disrupt the cell membrane of target cells, leading to cell lysis and death. |
Our less experienced lab members can use it without issuesExcellentThe clear and detailed protocol ensures that even our less experienced lab members can use it without issues. We particularly appreciate the kit's high specificity, as it minimizes cross-reactivity with other proteins, which has been a problem with other kits we've used in the past.
This kit has undoubtedly enhanced our ability to study the complement systemExcellentThe assay's precision and accuracy are unparalleled, allowing us to obtain high-quality data for our studies on complement activation during infectious diseases. The kit components are well-packaged and of high quality, and the results are easy to interpret thanks to the robust standard curve.
The kit's components are of high qualityExcellentWe have used this kit to analyze serum samples from non-human primates and have consistently obtained reproducible and accurate results. The sensitivity of the assay is particularly noteworthy, allowing us to detect low levels of the complement complex in our samples.
For studying complement activation in non-human primatesExcellentIt has proven to be an excellent tool. I have used this kit to analyze various samples, including cell culture supernatants, and have always obtained reproducible results.
