Green Biochar Manufacturing Service

Proven Green Biochar Production and Analysis Services at Creative Biolabs

Biochar is a carbonaceous solid material produced by the pyrolysis of biomass (such as wood, straw, plant residues, etc.) under high temperature, oxygen-free, or low oxygen conditions. It is similar to charcoal, but unlike traditional charcoal, biochar has high porosity, large specific surface area, and adsorption properties, which are beneficial to water retention, increase fertility, improve soil structure, and help store carbon for a long time, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Creative Biolabs has advanced biochar production technology and experience. According to client needs, we provide custom green biochar production services to meet the needs of different industries and application areas. The production of biochar involves multiple links, the following is a general process for producing biochar.

  • Preparation of biochar raw materials

We select suitable organic materials such as sawdust, straw, agricultural waste, etc. as raw materials for the production of biochar. These raw materials are properly treated, such as cleaning, drying, and crushing, for subsequent processing.

  • Biomass pyrolysis

We put the treated biomass raw materials into the biochar production equipment, such as a pyrolysis furnace. Then the biomass is heated at high temperatures (usually between 300°C and 800°C) in an oxygen-free or low-oxygen environment to cause a pyrolysis reaction. At high temperatures, the carbon in these biomasses is converted into biochar, and other elements in the biomass will also undergo different transformations, releasing volatile organic compounds and liquid by-products. During the pyrolysis process, we control the pressure, temperature, and residence time to produce high-quality biochar.

  • Cooling and collection

When the biochar is formed, it needs to be treated and cooled in time to avoid continued combustion or gasification. Moreover, we use appropriate methods (such as vibration screening) to separate biochar particles from the residue.

  • Screening of biochar

We process and treat biochar to different degrees according to clients' requirements and end uses. For example, we crush and screen biochar to obtain the desired particle size. Or perform surface activity treatment on biochar to improve its properties and application effects.

For the produced biochar samples, we provide Physical Property, Thermal Property, Soil Amendment Property, etc. analysis services to ensure that the product meets the specified standards.

Published data

Cow dung (CD) is rich in various organic substances and nutrients and is often used as an organic fertilizer or energy source for biogas production. However, these traditional applications release a large amount of unpleasant odors and gases such as methane, which have an impact on human health and the environment. Therefore, to improve environmental and economic benefits, it is necessary to adopt advanced manure treatment technologies. In this study, CD was pyrolyzed by microwave pyrolysis to generate porous biochar products, and their characteristics were comprehensively analyzed. The specific analysis methods included the determination of the surface area and pore size distribution of biochar using nitrogen adsorption-desorption isotherms, the study of the thermal decomposition process of CD by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), and the analysis of the functional groups and elemental composition of biochar using different spectroscopic techniques. The results showed that CD was a high-quality biomass that could produce biochar products with a high calorific value under moderate microwave conditions. In addition, the produced biochar had oxygen-containing functional groups, which made it hydrophilic in aqueous solution and suitable for removing metal ions or cations from water.

FAQs

Q1: What applications can biochar be used for?

A1: Biochar is used in soil improvement, gas adsorption, water purification, and many other fields. We can customize biochar products for different purposes according to client needs.

Q2: What is the difference between biochar and traditional charcoal?

A2: Biochar is obtained by pyrolysis of biomass, has high porosity and organic matter content, and is suitable for use in agriculture, environmental protection, and other fields. Traditional charcoal usually comes from mineral coal, and its properties and uses are slightly different.

Q3: What are the advantages of your biochar products compared to other products on the market?

A3: Our biochar products have the advantages of high-quality raw materials, advanced processes, and strict quality control, which make them superior to other products in performance and quality. We also focus on working with clients to provide custom solutions.
