Anti-Microbiome Monoclonal Antibody Development

  • Hybridoma Technology

    Hybridoma technology is one of the most commonly used methods for monoclonal antibody production. After the antigen is obtained, the mice are immunized, and the antibody-producing B lymphocytes are then isolated and fused with an immortalized myeloma cell line to form hybrid cells. These hybridoma cells have the ability to produce a certain monoclonal antibody against the antigen.

  • Surface Display

    As an alternative to traditional hybridoma technology, the surface display is a recombinant technology that expresses a protein of interest on the cell surface. The obtained antibody genes are randomly cloned for surface display. Now we can provide phage display service, bacterial display service, ribosome display service, yeast display service, and mammalian cell display service. Antibodies with specific binding affinity for a particular antigen are then obtained through a selection and affinity enrichment process known as biopanning.

  • B Cell Sorting

    B cell sorting is the novel platform that enables rapid acquisition of fully human monoclonal antibodies or natural monoclonal antibodies from other species through high-throughput screening. In this process, B cells isolated from human peripheral blood or the spleen of immunized animals are subjected to deep sequencing and single B cell analysis techniques to obtain antibody candidates.

Recombinant antibodies refer to antibody fragments produced based on recombinant antibody coding genes. Compared with conventional antibodies, recombinant antibodies present a series of advantages, such as being easy to engineer, wider biodistribution, no animal immunization required, and avoiding potentially deleterious Fc effector functions.
