Normal Colorectal Organoid Model

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the cancers that heavily threaten human health worldwide. At present, the lack of representative models is the main restrictive factor for the development of treatment against CRC. Based on our experienced scientific team, Creative Biolabs has established advanced 3D biology platform. As a result, we’re able to provide high-quality and customizable normal colorectal organoid models for global customers.

Advantages of Normal Colorectal Organoid Models

Differing from conventional modeling approaches, organoids are micro-organs cultured in vitro, which have the capacity to self-renew and differentiate. Normal colorectal organoid models are generated from healthy tissues and show the following advantages.

  • Normal colorectal organoid models enable the in vitro expansion of normal colorectal tissues for the long term.
  • Despite extensive passages, they retain amazing genetic and epigenetic stability, which is superior to cell lines.
  • Current evidence suggest that the establishment efficiency of such models is almost 100%.
  • Compared to mouse models, they avoid the overuse of animals and have a higher benefit-cost ratio.
  • Such models are a suitable complement to tumor genome sequencing and bring a feasible method for drug toxicity testing.

Applications of Normal Colorectal Organoid Models

In CRC research, organoids prove their superiority in studying intestinal homeostasis and epithelial cancers. They offer the new opportunity of dissecting CRC to prevent classical limitations, for example, the difficulty of long-term culture of normal intestinal epithelial cells and the deficiency of suitable animal models for exploring the initiation and progression mechanism of CRC. Supplements for each other, the normal colorectal organoid and tumor organoid can be applied in CRC modeling, drug testing and screening, personalized treatment and regenerative medicine. They are promising to combine with emerging technologies, such as gene editing, and scRNA-seq, thus to accelerate the anti-tumor drug development and improve the treatment progress of CRC patients in the future.
