Creative Biolabs is a well-recognized expert in the field of antibody generation and production. Especially, we have launched a series of in vitro diagnostic (IVD) antibody development services for different infections and diseases, including sepsis. Scientific progress has resulted in the discovery of novel disease biomarkers to fulfill the need for quicker, more specific and more accurate diagnosis of sepsis. Particularly, we provide IVD antibody development services against the eicosanoid marker.
General Introduction: Eicosanoid
Eicosanoid is similar to arachidonic acid with 20 carbon units in length. Eicosanoids often act as signaling molecules, which are produced by the enzymatic or non-enzymatic oxidation of arachidonic acid or other polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs). As a sub-category of oxylipins, eicosanoids play an overwhelming role as cell signaling molecules distinguished from other oxylipins. Commonly, eicosanoids act as autocrine signaling agents to impact their cells of origin or as paracrine signaling agents to impact cells in the proximity of their cells of origin. Eicosanoids may also function by serving as endocrine agents to control the function of distant cells.

The Protein Eicosanoid Levels in Sepsis
Eicosanoids perform diverse functions in physiological systems and pathological processes, which involved in mounting or inhibiting inflammation, allergy, fever and other immune responses; regulating the abortion of pregnancy and normal childbirth; contributing to the perception of pain; regulating cell growth; controlling blood pressure; and modulating the regional flow of blood to tissues. A study focused on human sepsis eicosanoid and pro-resolving lipid mediator temporal profiles has been carried out to identify the pro-resolving mediators in sepsis patients and temporal relationships to classic pro-inflammatory and vasoactive eicosanoids. In addition, elevated levels of eicosanoids have been detected in acute lung injury with sepsis, the possibility that eicosanoids may act as risk and prognostic factors for sepsis patients who develop acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) remains poorly studied.
IVD Antibody Development Services for Eicosanoid Marker
Antibodies are core elements for antibody-based immunoassays for detecting and quantifying antigens of interest in all kinds of samples such as the serum, urine, tissue preparations, and so on. IVD antibodies are extensively used for disease screening, prognosis, and therapeutic monitoring. With our versatile IVD platform, Creative Biolabs is proud to develop novel anti-eicosanoid antibody from scratch to commercial IVD kit (we can also start with provided antibody candidates).
Creative Biolabs has successfully completed numerous IVD antibody generation and development projects for clients across the globe. If you need more detailed information, please feel free to contact us.
