Creative Biolabs is a professional custom service provider with extensive experience in IVD (in vitro diagnostic) antibody discovery and development services. With over ten years of efforts, our scientists are specialized in generating IVD antibody against a full range of disease markers. Here, we introduce our IVD antibody development services for Gro-alpha marker.
General Description of Gro-alpha
Previously called GROα, the chemokine (C-X-C motif) ligand 1 (CXCL1) in humans is a protein encoded by the CXCL1 gene. The encoded protein is a small cytokine belonging to the CXC chemokine family. It is found that CXCL1 plays a key role in mediating host defense to polymicrobial sepsis. CXCL1 also plays an essential role in restricting bacterial outgrowth and death in mice. CXCL1 derived from both hematopoietic and resident cells is essential in bacterial clearance. In addition, CXCL1 plays a crucial role in neutrophil migration, proinflammatory mediators expression, NF-kB and MAPKs activation, and adhesion molecule ICAM-1 upregulation. Via Th17 differentiation, CXCL1 makes a contribution to IL-17A production. Besides, CXCL1 is essential for NADPH oxidase-mediated reactive oxygen species production and neutrophil extracellular trap formation. A novel role for CXCL1 is revealed in neutrophil recruitment via modulating T cell function and neutrophil-related bactericidal functions. All these studies suggest that modulation of CXCL1 levels in tissues and blood could reduce bacterial burden in sepsis.

Gro-alpha Marker for Sepsis Diagnosis
Severe bacterial sepsis gives rise to a proinflammatory condition, which can manifest as septic shock, multiple organ failure, and death. Neutrophils play a critical role in the rapid elimination of bacteria. However, the role of neutrophil chemoattractant CXCL1 in bacterial clearance during sepsis remains elusive. To test the hypothesis that CXCL1 is critical to host defense during sepsis, through using CXCL1-deficient mice and bone marrow chimeras, the related study demonstrates the importance of this molecule in sepsis. The expression level of CXCL1 is a pivotal marker for sepsis diagnosis.
