As a leading CRO of antibody generation and development, Creative Biolabs offers application-specific antibody development services to global clients. With experienced scientists and advanced technology, we have established a series of high-quality in vitro diagnostic (IVD) antibody development services against biomarkers of different diseases. Here, we introduce our IVD antibody development services for macrophage inflammatory protein 2 (MIP-2).

Macrophage Inflammatory Protein 2

MIP-2 is a member of leukocyte chemokine family, holding the ability to mediate leukocyte chemotaxis. According to the location of a cysteine in the polypeptide chain, MIP-2 can be divided into four subgroups: C, CC, CXC, and CX3C. MIP-2 is primarily produced by macrophages, one of the main dominant and widely distributed inflammatory cells, and its expression level is significantly increased in early inflammation. However, the exact biological mechanisms and functions of MIP-2 in the process of inflammation are still unknown. The release of MIP-2 has a significant effect on the development of early immune responses.

The Role of MIP-2 in Sepsis

Sepsis is a syndrome of organ failure that complicates the clinical course of patients with a primary, acute systemic infection or with a secondary infection after an initial sterile injury. The clinical features of sepsis are highly variable which depend on the initial site of the infection, the causative organism, the pattern of acute organ dysfunction the underlying health status of the infected patient, and the interval before initiation of treatment. It is not surprising that MIP-2 proteins are key players in the pathogenesis of many inflammatory conditions and diseases including asthma, granuloma formation, wound healing, arthritis, multiple sclerosis (murine EAE model), pneumonia, and psoriasis. MIP-2 plays a key role in the induction and modulation of inflammatory responses, i.e. in the context of autoimmune reactions and host defense responses. In addition, MIP-2 proteins also regulate various aspects of tissue homeostasis. In the interest of space, these important physiological MIP-2 functions, e.g. in thymic and stem cell development, angiogenesis, and tumor biology, which are discussed in excellent recent reviews, are not considered here.

IVD Antibody Development Services Targeting MIP-2 Marker

Based on the rapid development of IVD technology and novel biomarkers, IVD antibodies are extensively used for disease screening and therapeutic monitoring. Diverse immunoassays are applied, including lateral flow assay, immunochemistry, sandwich ELISA, etc. Through our role as a leading antibody service provider, Creative Biolabs is well-positioned to deliver high-quality IVD antibody development services targeting numerous biomarkers of sepsis, such as MIP-2. With years of devotion and accumulation in this particular field, Creative Biolabs is confident in offering you the best products and services.
